What about Brand Names? Are they better? Are they different?
All clubs are built from components and the finished article is branded with the name of the company bringing the club to market.
Callaway for example does not make their club heads. These are produced to Callaway's designs and specification in Asia. The selection of foundry to produce heads is often based on cost ... the lowest bidder gets the job. Similarly with shafts and grips.
As a matter of interest the first series of Callaway titanium heads were produced by Sturm Ruger in the U.S.A. and the soles were stamped "Ruger Titanium". Ruger also produced Ping's titanium heads among others. So whats the "Brand"?
What is important to realize is that because of the constraints of meeting certain price points in bringing the product to retail, the quality of some of the components in the finished club may not be as consistent as one might wish.
Perhaps we at Kwozzi Golfworks have an advantage in producing a club that will work for a player because we are not limited to a few "this years model" clubs, but can select components from hundreds of heads, shafts and grips. These can be combined to give the player the best possible fit because they will be built for that individual from scratch.
